Species

Simityè are a huge species of animal, around the size of a moose. Their front arms are powerful, used for digging. They usually live underground only surfacing at night to tend to the graveyards they call home. Their territories are huge and encompass the graveyards. They tend dutifully to the bodies kept there and its believed this is because they are spiritual. Their eyes are sensitive to light and so they are never seen during the day. They rarely have been heard speaking but usually they only make loud growls, grunts, and roars due to their huge necks and throats. They are omnivorous in nature and opportunistic eaters. They have been known to assist people in digging graves for the dead and it is said if you harm a grave they will hunt you down and end your life, eating your body and leaving nothing behind. Legends also say they have secret shrines built of mysterious bones. These beings are friendly and harmless so long as you respect their graveyard territories. In fact if you are kind to the graves its believed these creatures will do kind things for you in return as thanks. Simityè are solitary creatures by nature but can have a mate and are said to mate for life.

Carriopods are an ancient species that are fondly called natures clean up crew. Often considered to be close friends with simitye, they will eat any decaying matter they can get their hands on from dead leaves to carrion!

They are versatile, able to live on land, underground, or even in the deep sea making them well known all over the world. Food can sometimes end up being scarce for them with competition from other scavengers being a constant, so when they do find food they will eat and eat until there is nothing left. Sometimes they will eat so much that afterwards they cant move.

Simitye have formed a bond with these creatures however as they are wonderful at keeping graveyards clean. They will eat the carrion that ends up there, dead leaves or trees, and even the moss growing on stones. They also can clean the bones that simitye keep close in their dens, and they dont just eat the flesh off, their saliva is a disinfectant that helps them digest bacterias. It can kill nasty viruses and other things that could make someone very ill.

Carriopods are so vast, that it turns out there are endless color patterns and types of them out in the world!

Mortesse are a species of being that much like simitye seem to have ties to spirits. But their time around them is much more brief. They show themselves only at funeral services, possibly to give blessings. However it is reported that when someone with a dark heart dies, these beings may be absent either way. What could that mean?

TeddyBears are an acient species that are known as elite hunters. They hunt large prey items including human beings with a unique form of mimicry as their main weapon. They will sound like soothing human voices to lure in prey before using large teeth and claws to rip prey appart.

TeddyBears eat their prey alive and in some instances they eat them whole. The mimicry they use to hunt can allow them to make the sounds of other animals too. To date its not know what their unique species sounds are. They are manipulative and highly intelligent, making them impossible to domesticate. They will pretend until you feel safe before consuming you.

They have distinctly long noodle like bodies, long necks, and short stocky legs allowing them to run at insane speeds of sometimes near 100 MPH. They are also known for their owl like eyes and rotating heads. They have been described for a long time but were rediscovered in the 1800s. Back then they were called bandersnatches.

They also are known to hunt simitye though the success rate is not known.
